Jenny worked in a French bank in 1973-74 before starting her degree. On completion of her studies she taught Geography until 1992. She spent some years working in the field of immigration and then worked in IT for two years before becoming a freelance translator.
Jenny is a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (MCIL) and a Member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (MITI)
Jenny began learning languages at a very early age, starting with German and Italian. On starting secondary school she quickly took to French, which was soon followed by Latin, ancient Greek and finally Russian. Latin and Greek had faded away with the years but recently Jenny has been rediscovering her Latin and Greek. She learnt Spanish in the 1990s and has had a home in southern Spain for many years which she visits regularly. Jenny believes it is important to be able to communicate with people wherever she goes and has acquired a smattering of several other languages. She is also learning Chinese and Middle Egyptian. She is also improving her understanding of Italian.
